Okay, coming from a food-loving Mexican chica, this place was amazing!! Their menu is extensive, they have all the good stuff. The staff is so friendly and helpful, being newbies, they were of great help. Great guac, tasty salsas (you get to self-serve!) and such a cute little establishment. 10 STARS IF I COULD

Great service and delicious! Perfect blend of takeout window and seated dining. Clean and everything felt very fresh. The horchata was great and the steak was really well seasoned. Mostly leaving a review so I remember to come back! That's always a good sign

The food is excellent. I love this style of cooking. This is the best I have had since I left California. The waitresses are very kind and friendly. The new look of the dinning room is a great improvement .

It's a gas station, but they have authentic Mexican food and it's good. I don't think I would trust getting seafood from here though.

It's been a long time since food has brought me to tears, but every bit of three dishes tried at our table today did just that. Friendly waitress and clean eating areas. Oh, how I wish my father could have visited this amazing place before his passing. Do not hesitate to jump in your vehicle and drive straight there. You will not be sorry.

Taqueria La Qaxaqueña is a staple in tree Jonesboro area. Located on Mt Zion Rd the history of the restaurant journey is a fantasy come true: "At age 15, Rosalia Ruiz started selling traditional food an snacks in her home state of origin in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 1995, she had the opportunity to travel to the USA with her husband, Oscar Arteaga, arriving at Dekalb County in Georgia. During a visit to a local flea market, Rosalia came up with the idea of selling traditional Mexican food. With very few resources and a very basic grasp of the English language, they began to sell tamales. After two years, Rosalia and Oscar saved up enough money to buy a food truck, which was located on North Harston Rd, at Stone Mountain. After years of struggles and perseverance, they were able to expand their business to a brick and mortar location in Clayton County on 6768 Tara Boulevard. For five years, "Taqueria La Oaxaqueña" operated at that location, where they earned the loyalty of their clients with their delicious traditional Oaxacan food" The food is equally amazing but be careful if you have to choose between medium or large try the smaller portions first. The good comes on hot plates in abundance and there is always room to share if you are in groups. Happy dining

When we got there they served complimentary chips and salsa. Our waitress was very attentive to us throughout our dinner. The tacos here are so big! Love the corn tortilla that they use. I ordered 3 tacos for myself but couldn't finished it. Wish the tripas was a bit more crunchier. Wasn't a big fan of the cheese they used in the anchors though. It was too salty so we couldn't finish it.

I've eaten a ton of Mexican food in the past thirty years and always love to seek out the best places wherever we are, including probably the dozen or so times that I've been in Mexico. This is the best Mexican food that I've ever had! The salsa bar had my new favorite, salsa de cacahuate, only the second time I've seen it in a restaurant. It's ground up peanuts and chilies and very good, I think. The refried beans were the best refined beans I've ever had. The mole tacos were super fantastic! I've never had better mole! The carnita taco I got was the best carnitas I've ever had! The chicharon taco was pretty good. My server was sweet and on point! You can't go wrong at this place. I wish I didn't live so far away but see a restaurant with the same name, much closer to me in Duluth, and I'm hoping it's the same owners. Their reviews are just as good and they also have those tlayuda's on their menu so I'll be checking them out soon and hope they're similar.

Service was OK. Wasn't greeted when I entered the building. Planned on getting my order to go, but just ended up seating myself. Ambiance seemed a little off, but not terrible. Service improved once I was greeted by a waitress. I ordered a pork tamale, and asada taco. Chips and salsa coke with the meal after being seated. The tamale had minimal meat, and had fatty pieces. The asada was flavorful, but I didn't imagine the tortilla would come out so big. I noticed photos of street tacos on yelp so, maybe I needed to be more specific of the kind of taco I was looking for. Tortilla was homemade, and not dry at all. I did not like the salsa that came with the complimentary chips. It tasted like it had a hint of marinara in it. The menu is large. They have a salsa bar at the front of the building by the register. Overall I'd give this place another try based off the flavors of the food.

Eat here if you want the best Mexican food by ATL Airport! We are from Southern California (aka spoiled with eating delicious/authentic Mexican food all the time so picky about eating Mexican food so far away from Mexico) but Taqueria La Oaxaquena tasted amazing and was the perfect meal before having to head to the airport (because who wants to eat airport food? - not us!) When we arrived the restaurant was packed - a great sign! It was also packed with native Spanish speakers - also a great sign that the food would be authentic & top-notch - and it was!! The restaurant was very clean (even the restrooms) and all of the employees were nice and helpful! They have multiple types of salsa including my favorite the green tomatillo - all of which tasted fresh and flavorful! We ordered: 2 Pastor street tacos (really good marinade!) 2 Carnitas street tacos (carnitas was perfect crispy on the edges and soft and flavorful - this was our favorite!) 1 Campechanos (Steak and Chorizo) street tacos (This was a great combo of making the Asada more flavorful but not as overpowering as a straight chorizo taco) 1 Asada street tacos (actually our least favorite) 1 bean & cheese burrito (no rice) (tasted more like a cheese burrito with a smidge of beans but who doesn't love cheese so that was delicious) 2 Kids steak mini burritos (got rave reviews from the kids!) Just to note the "street tacos" that we ordered are the ones that you'd get in SoCal or Mexico with the cilantro, diced white onions and a line to squeeze But - they do offer the other tacos with all the toppings too Best of all: they make their tortillas from scratch! One thing to be aware of is they cut all their burritos in half (even on to-go orders like ours) which I didn't like since that makes it messy to eat so in the future I'd request them not cut in half - I didn't know ahead of time they did this. Also you can call ahead to place a to-go order which was awesome and super convenient! Allow at least 25 minutes minimum though because they are busy! We always seem to be hungry either after landing at the airport, or before our flight, so now we have a new go-to airport restaurant since it's less than 15min drive from ATL. We highly recommend this restaurant to locals too who want some delicious, authentic Mexican food!
